Dog or Baby Shark?

Is your dog acting more like a baby shark these days? Teething and other puppy biting behavior happens to an extent with almost every dog. But is your dog acting normally or pushing the limits? Read on for more info about the “puppy shark phase” and what you can do about it!

The “puppy shark phase” can be tricky to get through, while it’s normal behaviour, sometimes there are factors that can increase puppy biting and when the biting is communicating something more to us.

If things are getting to be too much, it’s a good idea to run through this short checklist:

  • Is my puppy getting enough sleep and rest?

  • Are they responding to me, family or friends being too hands on?

  • Are they getting enough or too much? Could I up the mental stimulation?

  • Do they have enough access to chews that they can have and a variety of textures?

Did you find a possible solution? Oftentimes a dog needs more or less of something from their humans to help the situation. Your dog is not innately a “bad dog who bites!”
